Dr Ted Wong is a senior consultant anesthesiologist at the Singapore General Hospital. Born, raised and trained in Canada, after completing his neuroanesthesia fellowship in London, Ontario, Canada – he has spent the last 20 years in Singapore gaining extensive experience in airway management for head and neck surgeries and evaluating various airway adjuncts. He heads the airway group at Singapore General Hospital and has been instrumental in evaluating and procuring airway adjuncts, developing and stocking the airway carts and developing and stocking FONA (front of neck access) kits for all anesthetic sites. He is presently platform director of critical care and anesthesia workshops – SGH Surgical Skills Center, which includes the FACT workshop (fundamentals in airway and central line training) , the advanced airway workshop - primarily teaching basic and advanced skills in fiberoptic use. In 2018 Dr Wong was instrumental in amalgamating the various local airway workshops conducted by the public hospitals, culminating in forming and running the highly successful 1st inaugural National Airway Programme Singapore (august 2018) as the chief director. Dr Wong has published various articles in airway management and has given numerous talks and conducted workshops both locally and internationally on the management of difficult airways.
