After finishing residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Ongkasuwan then went on to complete fellowships in Pediatric Otolaryngology and Laryngology. She is now an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital specializing in Adult and Pediatric Laryngology. She has over 40 peer reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, as well as grant supported research. She has been a pioneer in the use of transervical laryngeal ultrasound for the identification of vocal fold movement impairment and vocal fold lesions in children. She has also published extensively on vocal fold medialization including awake transcervical injection laryngoplasty, thyroplasty, and laryngeal reinnervation.
